A Will Away, whose name comes from a play on words from their shared philosophy, "Where there's a will, there's a way." is a rock band formed in 2011 in Naugatuck, Connecticut.
“There’s no community in Connecticut,” says the frontman of A Will Away. “When we first started,, we were playing maybe 50 scene kids, and they’re all in bands or each other’s merch people, and it’s all pay-to-play. It was a good time for us when we were starting, but we realized we didn’t want to be a part of it anymore. I think we developed our sound completely independently of the state.”
Starting off in the DIY music scene a self-described "cookie-cutter pop-punk" band, the band calls their current sound "eighties pop-rock on acid," which Billboard describes as being characterized by "a slew of memorable riffs, conceptual videos, and relatable lyrics that range from the everyday to transcendental."
In late 2018, they built their own recording studio and art center, called Steadfast Studios, in Naugatuck, CT. Using this hometown studio, the band recorded their sophomore EP, Soup, and released it in November 2019.
The band signed with Rude Records in 2020, opening a brand new chapter. Stay tuned!
